Thanks Man United… You did what others fail to do in the league.
Punch was exchanged. Tackles went flying…. Kicks were everywhere. In a day where the beautiful game was played in an ugly manner.
A team, written off by many and having needed resort to reserve team player has beaten a team that boast sending out two different teams into Champion League and Premier League (and still might win both of them). Man United certainly has the knack of ending people’s record like the one they did when they snapped Arsenal 49 games unbeaten track. This time is Chelsea’s 40 games unbeaten run coming to a halt.
From my point of view, this time around the rearguards of United resembled a similar face in a correct formation. Putting Brown into rightback actually bring back memory when Brown was first introduced into Premier League few year ago as a rightback. Then, the familiar faces of Rio and Silvestre filling up the centrebacks. O’ Shea going back to his usual role as attacking left back. When you think about it Man United is actually playing with 4 centrebacks!
Alan Smith, the man they say Keano’s replacement certainly raised my eyebrows with his lunging tackles and dealing blows with Lampard, Essien, and Makelele in a handicapped match. I’ll never forget his 3 consecutive sliding tackles in that match. Ronaldo, my favorite player should have more self-belief to try dribbling past the defenders more with his trickery. Not to forget, the boxer Wayne Rooney. The only player which I think has the capability to outmuscle the opposing midfield and defence.
Fletcher, one of the player subjected to critics by Keane last week, scored the freaking WINNING goal in this match. The header in my point of view was intended to Man United strikers but some how it flew past Cech and even Terry who tried to climb up using the bar to head it away, certainly to no avail. Many believe it’s a lucky goal but in a match like this if luck was on your side you deserved it.
After that goal, the rest was boring because Man United is simply trying to absorb every attack from the rampaging Chelsea in the second half. At one time I was wondering if United was playing volley ball. Nistelrooy must have forgotten how many times he had jumped in that match. In my opinion Park Ji Sung should be brought in earlier to replace the ineffective yet still capable Nistelrooy.
True to what people have said on United….They lacked creativeness in the centre midfield role. We need Ballack!! Scholes was sending too many balls to the back but it is understand that there is actually no one free to receive the ball at the front because of the close marking from Terry (one moment he was caught in the camera of receiving a note from the team management, not sure whether it’s legal). But no matter what, I enjoyed the match. Worth the tiredness of staying up late to witness the day when Mourinho’s men was beaten down to earth.

hahahhahaha...
eh...last year after they beat arsenal..they lost their next match and end up square one...
you think man utd gonna lost their next match again>? they are no longer the challenger...they are only the giant killer.
sad sad sad.... probably that will be the only important goal of fletcher...
just like how when forlan score against liverpool few season ago and everyone thinks :" yes...forlan finally become the man!" and in the end.. he never did in epl...
do you think fletcher can make the grade and hang on to his position?
