Life Is Meaningless Without Health

The last two week was eventful. I was down with suspected dengue. Yes, for the second time. I was showing all signs of the illness. Body ache, shivering and high fever. My first trip to Pusat Kesihatan was normal. The doctor advised me to take two Panadol Soluble and rest. But at the afternoon I began to develop this severe back ache. The ache was so painful that I can’t bear anymore and I decided to call the doctor again. She advised me to come back for a blood test even though she knew it would be useless as dengue symptom will only show up after three days of fever. My blood test was an awful experience. Once my blood sample was taken, I was told to sit outside the room. It was hot out there and I was suddenly feeling my head became heavy. By the time the nurse called out my name she saw me on the verge of collapsing.

Luckily I sat near the emergency case room. I was wheeled off to rest on a bed. There, I was put on drip. Yup the needle punctures into my hand for two hours. I was given glucose to drink. Luck was at my side when I know one of the staff there (PBSM people) and he quickly called my ex-commandant (it was her that the whole PBSM member in KDO knew of my case). I was droved back to my room by my next door neighbor. Even my ex-roommate who knew my case came to visit me on that night. Life is tough when you are sick I must say. Bathing is one of the problem. No warm water, so I need to boil myself. Luckily, after three blood tests, I was certified cleared of dengue. Three days break was a nice feeling but during these three days it had enlightened me that no matter how important your homework is if you don’t have a healthy body you can’t do anything really.
