Today 22 December is the new year in calendar Chinese calendar. So, it actually People's Birthday today. Happy Birthday! Traditionally, the Chinese folks will cook this "Tong Yuen" a so-called sweet dumpling soup. According to the customs, you have to eat some to gain one year old. When I was young, I was told to eat the total amount that resemble your age. Mathematically, if I going to be 12 years old next year then I must eat 12 dumplings! As I grow older I noticed this is just a trick from the elders because they want you to clear all the dumplings without the need to throw it away. By the way, how can an 80 years old grandmother gulped down 80 dumplings?

The filling inside the dumpling. Well, this special dumpling was bought from supermarket. Nowadays, it has lots of filling such as red bean, peanut and black sesame. My favorite is definitely the peanut.

Today is big day for chinease race. Is a big day among day like chinease new year. Today, normally young people who work out station will go back home and gether for dinner. And eat "Tong yong". When at home/hometown, my parent will cook many nice food. Parent will go market very early to buy stuff to cook. Unlucky after work out station, cant go back easily...lag of money go go back hometown (Travel back may coz a week of salary-cant effort). After work ...the thing that i can do is .. call parent.... Wish all people happy always... new year will be better...Happy birthday!!
Don't be sad man. I'm sure you can celebrate in the future. When u have your family here already then you can celebrate with your loved one.
Matter of familly is a long jurney. Now just step in, in unniversity of community. New in earning environment. Start financial planning also... no more finacial support from familly. Time to support familly financial. The only thing can do is do my best. Learn as much i can.
i didn't even notice 'tang yuan' is on 22 Dec... argh... feel pathetic to myself...
People around us will celebrate it. So i know it. One of the admin people bring thr tong yuen to office lonely youngster....cch
