Bangkok Dangerous - Banyan Tree Vertigo

My recent holiday trip to Bangkok is absolutely cheap. Zero fare from Airasia. Accommodation is free. My first night stay was in Banyan Tree hotel in Bangkok. Never heard of Banyan Tree before. Sound like Banana Tree more. Since we managed to change our complimentrary lunch voucher to 1500 baht that can be spent on any Banana Banyan Tree's restaurants, Han Ching suggested we go to the Vertigo Grill & Moon Bar deemed to be the world best open air roof top restaurant. Upon reaching the roof top on 61st floor of the hotel, I was quite nervous. This is a very high class restaurant to be frank. And I was hoping the 1500 baht voucher can last me 2 cheapest dishes there is on the menu.

Well, not that I can't afford but our main target in Bangkok is to try out the local delicacies and not spending a fortune on this kind of food which I can get in Malaysia. I've been to KL Tower which is much higher than this Banyan Tree building but the experience is totally different here because you can feel the breeze brushing your hair as you are being dazzled with the luminiuos night scenery of the whole Bangkok.

Since the moon is the source of light (well they don't name here Moon Bar for nothing) and the surrounding is really dim, ordering catching a glimpse of the menu can be troublesome.

Two appetizers and 1 main dish was enough to make us full for the night. Not to mention the hors d'œuvre served before the appetizers. I was served truffle as main dish. I know that truffle is an expensive dish in France but internal organs of any animals do not realyy suits me.

Yet we still have to forked out 700 baht for the balance.Well, for this wonderful scenery of Bangkok, I think it's worth the money spent though.
