The plinth of the memorial records the Commando's motto United We Conquer and a plaque states: "In Memory of the Officers and men of the Commandos who died in the Second World War 1939 - 1945. This Country was their Training Ground."
In UK, I noticed they have a liking to build statue to commemorate someone ranging from footballer, football manager, soldiers and even animal (remember Bobby the dog?). What's next? And it's not cheap stuff. This piece of "art" is made of bronze. Oh well, after a while we began to turn our focus on the moorland instead. It's weird. In Malaysia, I don't even bother to go Tugu Negara and now I'm so eager to see other country monument. Worse still, they never fight for our country independence. How can?
Next stop: Harry Potter's Viaduct!

Malaysia don't have many 'human' shape monuments because the Islam religion don't allow that. The monument will become a worshipping object.
