The Tantallon Castle marveled us. And I can't believe it took us until 3PM. And then we had to jump to our Formula One racing skill to our next destination. Edinburgh. The city of Scotland. I don't know why they take this place to become their city center. It's like having Malacca as Malaysia city center. You won't see high rise buildings like suddenly 2 "jagung" in the heart of the town. All the buildings here are ancient and old. Of course the major attraction here is the Edinburgh Castle. Located in Castlehill.
By the time we reached there it's already 5PM and they had standby a few fierce looking guards blocking us from approaching the main entrance of the castle. Well, I'm obviously pissed off. Not because we are late or can't enter the castle (anyway, we don't intend to enter either
It's because the guards were standing in front of the entrance spoilt my scenery to capture some decent photos. &@$#!! Ka ka ciao ciao. So we decided to take a stroll around the city. The city is nice. The ancient housing area here are combined with the modern amenities.
It makes you feel like stuck in the era of medieval.
There is a few places I browsed through the internet; a must to visit. The Scott Monument.
A piece junk looks like DAP rocket shape logo beside the road which I don't know it served what purpose.
Walking around the city aimlessly finally had taken it's toll. We can't ignore the drumming sound of our stomachs. So, we decided to use the modern technology in an ancient city to navigate our way to food. We headed to McD. Not to eat but to utilised the free Wifi connection they provide. To reach there, we took out our TomTom (GPS navigation system) to find the nearest McD restaurant in town. Talk about technology.
Once there and we connected ourself in front of the restaurant using our IPhone with the staffs inside looking unsatisfied at our antique. We remembered cathing a glimpse of the statue of a famous dog here in the postcard (something like the photo below). Greyfriars Bobby the dog (and the restaurant behind it which we want to locate).
Don't ask me what so special about this dog. Ok I know the story already. They made a movie about this dog way back in 2006. Based on real story. Some sort of loyal dog which refused to leave his master's side, sleeping on his grave in Greyfriars churchyard night after night. The dog was entrusted by John Gray (his previous master) to a young shy man. Then come this stupid "DBKL" licensing act to put down stray dogs in the city.
So this young shy man, Ewan had to fight for the life of Bobby. Big story with a small hero. And I always thought Lassie is the world greatest dog. Ok where were we? Why suddenly go so far to dog story? Back to we are, we saw the restaurant behind the statue and we decided to hunt for the it hoping they serve dog decent Scottish food. On our way to the restaurant we bumped into some loud music coming from one bus. Oh my goodness. It's a club in the bus. And it reminds me of Usher - Love In This Club. I think it must be Ladies' Night that day.
They are wild. Crazy. Jumping around. I pitied the driver. He must has sent the bus for suspension system services every week. I think if RapidKL implement something like this then all the youngsters in Malaysia won't drive but take bus instead. Finally we after 15 minutes walk, we found it.
No dog food. I tried the Abroath Smokie, a smoked haddock fillet. By the time we finished it's already 9PM!!!! Gosh and we must rushed all the way to Perth (not the Australia one) for our accommodation.
