I always have this thought that Rolex is the world most expensive watch. That's the tradition brought down from my father. I remembered that my dad managed to earn a few thousands from selling his more than 20 years Rolex.
In my era I thought Tag Heuer.. well has the potential of replacing Rolex as the most expensive adult toys. Brad Pitt wears it in acting to check whether it's time to feed his baby. Lewis Hamilton wears it while driving to check whether it's time to stop for a pit stop. Tiger Woods wears it to have more weight on his wrist so that he can have shock absorbing effect from the golf club. Maria Sharapova wears it so that her watch can reflect the sunlight on her opponent's eye.
Recently, my colleague told me he was about to buy a watch to invest. Like share market. He was informed that there's a watch factory called Jaeger is about to launch a limited collection of their watch series. A total of 100 pieces will available in the world. The price is:
RM 300,000!!! per piece
I was like what the h***!!!!. RM300,000 for a watch. He added that the watch can shoot up to half a million in one or two years time. Everyone on the table was shocked. Tham was even asking whether there any installment payment can be arranged. He told us that it's the best price since the shopkeeper is willing to give a RM20,000 discount.
Au Yong: Where you gonna keep it? In a safe?
My colleague: No la. My house la.
Wow. With that price I can buy a house. I found it unacceptable that you would want to put something that expensive in your house in the wake of all these landslide and break in. It's like a having a bungalow inside a house.
I was thinking what make it so expensive. Well, since it's hand made and the size of the part used is smaller than any part of your hair, that probably sum up the heavy price tag. He reminded me to go hunt for my grandmother and grandfather locker to see whether they have this antique Omega watch which might cost a fortune nowadays.

Of course Rolex is not the most expensive watch. I saw a few watches in Pavilion which have a price tag of almost RM170K-RM200K. Definately can buy a Honda Accord or a double storey house with that price. Anyway, the Casio watch F-91W shown looks like my previous two watches...
